Lovely xmas!

After many days of lovely xmas food we felt the need of giving our bodies some nice fish again.
Cod in spanish salsa turned out really tasty.
Tomatoes, baked red pepper on a can, lemonjuice, cod, fresh basil and almond potatos in sweet harmony.

We have celebrated the best xmas of our times. Its been some days to remember!
We are working these days but our little carrot is a trip to Spain in only a months time:)

The last xmas workshop

I so wish I had a day off tomorrow to fix the last things...
But I dont, so it will be as it will be. Good enough.

We had the last xmas workshop yesterday... The kids made decoration and it turned out really great. I always keep some saltydough in the fridge in case of instant need of creating something.

I bought buttons and other small items to glue on from Panduro. It doesnt take much to cheer up these salty angels and mooses a little bit. They will look perfect on the tree.

We'll go to my parents for a couple of days and enjoy the calmness of xmas. The kids are really exciteted and are counting days for xmas to come. How BIG xmas is when you are a kid!!
I do remember...

Friday evening snack

This was a pretty good eveningmeal we prepared yesterday.
We are quite found of sweet potatoes and ate a lot of it in Spain where it is a common vegetable in autumn/winter.

You bake the sweet potatoes in the oven for about an hour. They should be soft and sometimes the "caramel" leaks out as well.
Then you mix some fetacheese with a little bit of creme fraiche that you stuff it with together with some black olives and thyme.

Give the sweetpotato a chance folks:)

Hard to be a kid

Marcus said something funny tonight:

Mum, I dont wanna go to the kindergarden tomorrow. I just wanna have a cosy day. Like you adults; when you come together you have coffees and cakes but we kids have to construct and make things all the time. Thats tiring.

Marcus is not staying home tomorrow, but I told him to take a little timeout from making and constructing.
So he will sit on a chair and do nothing. Those were his own words.

Tatatata! I'm pregnant:)
We are expecting a little Salvador Wangen in the beginning of summer!
I am about 15 weeks pregnant.
I am feeling GREAT right now, but I have been through tougher days...
Quite a bit of nausea this time, unlike the other pregnancies.
I know what you are all thinking now, but we still dont know the sex.
4th of january will be the magic date:)


I will not show you the photos of my belly yet, as those photos didnt turn out good.
Hard to take nice photos with this little daylight and when you dont have a photographer by your side.
Alright, I will tell Salva to take some.
Because there is a belly to show.

Winter has arrived

Gosh, today winter arrived. It took me 1,5 hours on the bus to get home from work. I didnt even make it on time to pick the kids before closing time in the kindergarden.
Some nice teacher was there with them waiting for my arrival.
We have true winterweather here. And total chaos in the traffic.
It is a bit surprising that the winter comes as a BIG surprise every year and causes so much trouble. Many accidents and a lot of delayals can be the summary of today.
And A LOT OF FUN for the kids.They are out sledging the whole day, and when they are in they do a lot of secret xmas stuff:)

Anyway, we keep the mood up, afterall it looks fantastic and as in a fairytale.
Less practic, but we have to take it as vikings.

Grace Jones wreath

I found my knittingsticks again and these nights I was working nightshift I got to do quite a bit.
I ended up doing a Pickles wreath in yellow eskimo, and here is the amazing result:)

I have the feeling I would be accepted easily in certain african tribes....
(excuse the Sunday relaxed hairstyle... but wearing a hat does something to your hair...)



I look like myself as a grandmother, hehe.




And here I am ready to rob a bank.
Maybe they would'nt take seriously a bankrobber dressed as a chicken...

Peppercakehouse

We had friends visiting today to help us to glue together our little cosy peppercakecabin.
We bought the parts for the house this year...I am not really an architect...Just a pity that I had to glue together the parts that SHOULD be whole before we started...


Nonstop and winegum was used for the decoration. 1o in the mouth and 1 on the house was the situation today... Well, saturday and everything:)

The xmas feeling has definitely arrived in the house.
We also went to the library to rent some xmas books for the kids. There will be some reading in bed for sure!
